- (2) Place a 30 V and two 20V batteries in the
- circuit such that the equivalent voltage remains
- the same (you may add wire as needed):

- If batteries with the same voltage are connected in
- parallel with their positive terminals at the same
- potential (i.e. current moving through the circuit
- encounters a positive terminal first regardless
- of which path it takes), the equivalent voltage is
- the same as an individual voltage. If the given 30V
- battery is connected in parallel with the other
- battery combination, the equivalent voltage is still
- 30V. Batteries connected in the opposite direction
- (i.e. positive terminal connected to positive
- terminal) subtract their voltages from the total
- equivalent voltage.
